I would like to thank everyone for making this course so interesting. I have enjoyed reading the discussion postings and blogs. I was hesitant on how to create a blog and I think I still could use much practice but everyone was terrific about my lack of knowledge in this area. I hope everyone has much success in the early childhood development field. Good luck to all.

I-1.3—To recognize and respect the unique qualities,
abilities, and potential of each child.

* All children are different and that is what makes each of them unique. I appreciate and agree with this ideal because if we, as teacher's, could step back and look at what each child has to offer it would amaze us. Children are our future and it will take all different personalities and abilities to make our future a bright one.

I-1.4—To appreciate the vulnerability of children and
their dependence on adults.

* Children depend on adults to keep them safe and to teach them many different things about our world. Children desire and need our guidance, protection, nurturing and teaching to become successful adults.

I-1.5—To create and maintain safe and healthy settings
that foster children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and
physical development and that respect their dignity
and their contributions

* Children need to have a safe environment to grow physically, emotionally, mentally and socially. Adults should desire to keep all children safe. As a teacher, I desire every child to have the opportunity to develop and grow in a safe and healthy setting.
