Jaspreet Kindra/IRINDue to the monsoon season, the people in Bangladesh have depended on many types of boats for things such as schools, health boats, and library boats. Mohammed Rezwan believes the people of these communities can survive the rapidly changing climate. One of the books they use teaches them about their local birds, fish and river erosion. River erosion could definitely be a subject they would want to learn about because it has been predicted by climate change forecast models that 1/5 of Bangladesh could be under water by the year 2050.

  3. Those were great facts to learn about and thanks for keeping us informed. Also it is so wonderful to see education not taken for granted. To learn about the surroundings and climates and what is in the climate, helps assist the children in real world activities and also assist in connecting them to the real world.

  4. Teresa,

People say that a picture can speak a thousand words. Well the picture you added says it all. Mohammed Rezwan's floating schools is so accommodating to the needs of the community. As we know the only way out of poverty is through education. Due to Bangladesh’s climate children were unable to attend schools and now through these floating schools all children still have access to schooling and a better future. The picture gave me a better glimpse into their community. Thank you for sharing.
