Early Childhood Australia a voice for young children is an organization that tries to focus on hands-on research on child development to help early childhood teachers. Some topics of research are Learning and Teaching through play, Children's resilience, Diversity and differences, and Managing change with infants and toddlers.
I was surprised that some of the research done was how children learn through play. The research was very similar to what we are doing in early childhood development.
Love the Early Childhood Australia sight. I love reading about how they use there research topics to help and teach early childhood professional on children learn through play. I wish that so many of my local child care centers understands the meaning of play and what children are really learning.

ReplyDeleteTeresa,
ReplyDeleteI also browsed the ECA website. Very intriguing website. I also was very interested in their advocacy for learning through play. I, myself, am a big advocate for structured play and hands-on learning. There is a wealth of information available for anyone involved with children from birth through eight years old. It was also interesting to learn that boomerangs originated there ;)
